2. Explain what a post-modernist film is, what features would it include?
Post-modernism is when a film knowingly references another film or genre.
It would include dialogue or scenes from the film that it is referring to.

3.Explain how the lego movie is a post-modernist film
It is a post modernist film as it frequently refers to other films like batman and superman and also refers to N.B.A


Homework
The characters, themes, narratives and settings appeal to children as they show them healthy lifestyles, people to look up to and the difference between good and bad by making the main characters: make the correct choices, meet problems/tasks to get around, make friends who will later be important, the setting and themes show a deeper meaning like when the cloud koo koo land gets destroyed it kind of conveys that life isn't all fun and games and it can be taken away.

To promote this film they made a deal with mac donalds and did exclusive cups and toys, they made teaser trailers and posters, the posters showed the characters and the actors who played them which would have brought in the parents who know and like the actors, the mac donalds toys would've got the kids excited cause they have the toys and haven't seen the film.

Week 3 homework
The Tv Advertising Campaign was so successful as the trailer included all the characters, catchy music, and lots hints towards what was coming up in the film. It hit all the marks for attracting the right TA.

Synergy in marketing is when two marketing initiatives create a response greater than the sum of the combined response the two would have elicited alone. For small businesses, which often lack the funds for an aggressive marketing budget, the key to achieving marketing synergy is in multiple, low-cost initiatives.

They made Exclusive Lego Movie cups from mac donalds, they had t shirts, Lego sets, themed sweets, snacks, they put the characters on water bottle and lunch boxes etc.

Companies often release tie-in games to try get more money out of the franchise and to give the film companies promotion.



Week 4 homework



Entertainment: offers a distraction from the world



Personal identity: Helps us consider morals

Relationships: Lets us enjoy the game and feel like we are in the story as that character

Information: lets us find out more about the film that we didn't know through an interactive game



The entertainment part of the cover is showing us all the main characters included in the film and a few extras (the robot police etc). Also the main antagonist is looking menacing like he is about to play or move the lego which shows us that he and The Boys father are the same character. The game lets us feel like we are in  this game and lets us find out more about the film that we didn't know by showing us the problems that the protagonists go through that may not be in film and letting us decide what they do and how they get around it.










Week 5



Using bright colours and including all of the main characters this main cover is perfect to grab the attention of the T.A. Making the evil character big in the back ground and giving him a sinister look shows he is going to do some bad thing. Putting all the heroes in the front shows it is about them and tells us its their story, also putting it in bricksburg shows us where the main action will happen.

    Wk 2: Too vague. You need to explain how the movie appeals to each of the three parts of the TA. Also, talk about the TV advertising.
