People use media because:
.Surveillance
.Entertainment
.Information
.Socialisation
In 1973 Blumer and Katz developed 'The Users and Gratification Theory'
arguing audiences costume media text for one or more of the four reasons.
Fake news is made to annoy or make people believe things that aren't true.
First the most famous example of an indisputably (or so you would think) fake news story that has had real-world consequences.
On 4 December, a North Carolina man opened fire at the Washington pizzeria Comet Ping Pong, which an online conspiracy theory purports to be the headquarters of a child sex ring run by Hillary Clinton.
Bias
Being bias is when you prefer something over something else so like in a football match if the referee is bias he might make the team he supports win the match.
The news shouldn't be bias as it could affect how they portrait certain things.
